Our story

Written by Maria is a faith-based handlettering + design studio created by Maria C. in Central Illinois. What started as a creative hobby in middle school grew into a small business after Maria began selling her handlettered pieces at local markets in 2015. Today, she designs and creates a variety of encouraging, Jesus-centered goods including handlettered stickers, apparel, stationery, tote bags, car charms, laser cut pieces, and more. Each piece is designed with the hope of adding a little joy, encouragement, or truth to your everyday life. From a favorite tee to a reminder hanging from your rearview mirror, Written by Maria is all about sharing a little light through creativity. We're so excited to now have a little corner in Franklin, Tennessee! While Written by Maria is based in Central Illinois, our Franklin booth brings our faith-filled, handlettered goods to a whole new community. Thanks for shopping small and supporting a dream that's been growing for over a decade!
